ATTENTION !! February 21- 24th, 2009 Charitable event benefiting New Orleans

Fat Tuesday, Second Life's most realistic New Orleans French Quarter, will be home to the best Mardi Gras celebration in SL

We are planning four days of festivities with parades running every 4 hours from 6am to 10pm SLT on Saturday Feb 21 & Sunday Feb 22nd, followed by a Masquerade Ball. There will be music and dancing in the street all 4 days and the proceeds go to support New Orleans Habitat for Humanity, *Musician's Village.


This will be a celebration we know you will want to be part of!!

How can you be involved?
1.Parades: Build a Float, ride your horse or motorcycle, walk in Mardi Gras Costumes(10 Floats per parade)
2.Live Performers: Musicians & Singers with that NOLA sound (1hr sets)
3.DJ's: Spinning tunes to provide a authentic NOLA sound (1-2 hr sets)
4. Host an event at your club, store, or performance during "SL Mardi Gras" using our kiosk for donations

OnlyHalfCrazy Gumbo LIVE Tuesday Feb 3rd 5-6pm

I Love Second Life™!!! I have had the most fun discovering new to me Performing Artists for the Cafe Du Monde!

May I present OnlyHalfCrazy Gumbo! I found her in the events the name, Gumbo, is what drew me to the venue where she was singing. Of course it was one where the landing zone is so far away from the actual event you want to pull your hair out, but fortunately for me SHE WAS LIVE on the parcel and she was great!! So I persevered! So without further ado a bit about her from her bio.

OnlyHalfCrazy Gumbo has been singing most of her life. Her genre of specialty varies from Classic Rock to Country. She uses tracks for her shows here in Second Life, but at the age of 14 she picked up a guitar and was taught some chords by her father and she has been singing and playing ever since.

She has a sultry, breathtaking voice that brings the songs she sings alive. She sings with heart, soul and her very own style. Recently OnlyHalfCrazy moved to Tennessee somewhere near Nashville.

She adds humour to her shows through her patter, and through her sidekick Heckova Hamster, although he is noticibly absent from ballroom gigs.

I will protect her hamster from the NOLA gators with my life!

"HooDoo" Harry Denimore Live 5pm SLT Tuesday Jan. 27th

Please join us for a special performance featuring Harry Denimore.

In First Life he is a member of The Hoodoo Hounds...a 5 piece blues band, rooted in the delta blues school of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, played in the Chicago electric style. Based in Clemson, South Carolina the Hounds can be found playing monthly gigs in shadowy gin-joints, low-key speak-easies, and other establishments that provide a comfortable venue for the blues.
